I was on the ‘ol dog an bone to Moto X magazine Ed, Ben in the middle of January when he asked me to do the pics for their upcoming 450 MX shootout. A quick reshuffle here and there and I made sure I could say yes. Set to be my first ever mulit-bike shootout of any description I was excited to say the least.
Pulling myself out of bed for a nice half six start and, as is typical of our delightful winter, the weather was on the grimmer side of shite… As my darling Father and I rocked into the car park of Apex MX following our two hour trek across the heads of the valleys, the grey skies hung still low and the wind cut me deep. Sporting a stolen “dappy hat” and some rather audacious trainers, I set to work trying to figure out how this MX lark worked (I have never even shot at and MX track…)
The remainder of Worcester’s snow fall lay frozen on the corner of the car park and what resulted was some rather bright static photo’s of this year’s big boy line up. This was about the only time all day I had any light to work with and the only period I managed to retain any body heat. Beyond the ever fading light, and onslaught of bikes left right and centre, the day didn’t turn out so badly and out it has come my first magazine cover! Not so bad if I say so myself.
